12-Port
SMB12
The SMB12 is commonly used as a Multi-User Telecommunications Outlet Assembly (MUTOA) near workstations for intermediate terminations in zone cabling systems. Installed in an accessible location, incoming cable bundles enter the box perpendicular to the port face, keeping routing organized and serviceable. The unit accommodates up to 12 voice/data ports, which are then distributed to individual workstations using patch cords of varying lengths based on distance from the MUTOA. When planning a MUTOA installation, ensure the total patch-cord length and conductor gauge — both at the zone location and any telecom-room cross-connect — meet horizontal cabling limits. Use the de-rating formula and reference matrix on the previous page:(de-rating × patch length) + horizontal length ≤ 102 m.
