2RU High-Density Panel

The name of this series reflects its purpose. HCI’s HD Configurable Enclosure occupies 2U (3.5” = 88.9mm) of rack space and can accommodate up to 12 cassettes, supporting high fiber counts for modern datacenter environments.

MPO connections play a critical role in backbone cabling, allowing multiple fibers to be transmitted in a single cable. Take the 2×MPO-12 to 6×LC Quad breakout cassette as an example: 144 channels are available at the front while only 24 MPO-12 array cables feed in from the back.

This approach simplifies cable management, improves airflow within racks, and directly supports equipment cooling and energy efficiency.

Its modular design also allows MPO migration cassettes, which split high-speed spine switch uplinks into multiple lower-speed downlinks to leaf switches. Depending on project requirements, the enclosure layout can be customized, with empty chassis slots available for future expansion using blank covers.
