Feed-through (RJ45 to RJ45) patch panels are growing in popularity because they offer plug-and-play convenience when patching directly to active switches and routers.

However, a common concern among network engineers is whether feed-through panels degrade overall transmission performance across the channel.

The real answer is both Yes and No:

【Why YES?】

  • There is no official Component-Rated standard for RJ45-to-RJ45 couplers, so individual feed-through units cannot be certified on a component level.

【Why NO?】

  • A high-performance Feed-Through Panel provides equivalent channel performance that can still easily support demanding inter-connection and cross-connection topologies.

To eliminate performance doubts while retaining plug-and-play convenience, HCI tests its Feed-Through Panels under the most severe test scenario possible: a worst-case 1-meter short patch cord test setup (1m patch cord -> Feed-Through Panel -> 1m patch cord) at the TR end. Passing this rigorous short-channel test ensures your network maintains complete signal stability in ISO 11801 ClassEa, ANSI/TIA-568.2-E Cat 6A, and Cat 6 channel installations. 

We offer two distinct shielded feed-through panel configurations:

  • Integrated PCBA Type (SP48KMCASM Series): Features double-shield protection where feed-through PCBAs are individually brass-housed and encased in a 12-in-1 die-cast frame for direct busbar grounding. It’s heavy, but the shielding and durability are well worth it!
  • Loaded Keystone Coupler Type (SP48KICS6AIM Series): Pre-assembled with 48 of our premium 3013AKICS6AI die-cast couplers, delivering top-tier ISO/IEC 11801 ClassEa channel headroom -  outperforming standard TIA Cat 6A by 1.8dB at 500MHz.
