Adaptors and Patch Cords: Precision in Connection
Connectivity begins with Adaptors, whose primary function is to ensure perfect, low-loss alignment between feed-throughs. Our portfolio covers the full range of industry standards, all sleeved with zirconia ceramic for superior performance and durability: LC connectors for speeds up to 100G, SC connectors for reliable legacy connections, and MPO/MTP for high-speed parallel optics.
Patch Cords may appear similar, but structural details are critical for density. We prioritize thin cables to maximize cable management, optimize airflow, and contribute to data center energy efficiency. While round-duplex 2.0mm is our normal type, we offer ultra-thin cables down to 1.6mm. Furthermore, our innovative Poli-Swap series allows for simple, tool-free polarity reversal in the field, eliminating complex wiring errors. To prepare for future upgrades, we also supply next-generation cords like LC to SENKO CS® and SN® to SN®.
MPO/MTP System Solutions: Scaling to 800G
The MPO (Multi-fiber Push On) system is the architectural key to modern network scaling. MPO connectors consolidate 12, 16, or more fibers into a single ferrule, drastically increasing density. We offer established MPO-12 Trunks for 8-fiber 400G-SR4 and emerging MPO-16 Trunks for 8-lane 800G-SR8. All MPO connectors are supplied as male (with guide pins) or female (with guide holes), ensuring the mandatory male-to-female mating for proper operation.
Polarity is managed using standardized methods: Type A or Type B, depending on whether a Tx/Rx reversal is needed for correct signal flow. Our versatility includes MPO Y-cables (for splitting spine/leaf links) and MPO breakout cables that efficiently transition the high-fiber count to multiple lower-speed LC duplex ports for connecting to individual devices. The detailed specifications—MPO gender, MTP® vs. MPO, polarity method, breakout length, fiber type, and insertion loss grade—are complex, and HCI specializes in navigating this complexity to ensure flawless, customized solutions.
High-Density Enclosures: Protection and Organization
Rack-based enclosures provide the critical final layer of protection and cable management. Our 1RU and 2RU Rack Mount Enclosures offer massive fiber capacity, supporting up to 144c in 1RU and up to 288c in 2RU. They are categorized by function:
- Feed-Through Type: Simple panels pre-loaded with adaptors (LC, SC, etc.) for direct patching.
- Cassette Type: Designed to house internal breakout/migration harnesses. These cassettes feature an MPO receptacle at the rear (for trunk connection) and LC-Duplex or MPO ports at the panel front (ready for patching to devices).
Mechanism designs include simple 19” panel frames or Sliding-Drawer trays for easy front access to the fibers during maintenance, minimizing disruption to surrounding rack equipment.
