U.S. Type
4.5” x 2.75”
U.S.-style faceplates generally follow a rectangular format with screw spacing of 3.28”(83.34mm), based on the NEMA WD6 standard. The standard single-gang size is 4.5” x 2.75” (114.3mm x 69.85mm), as seen in our 2013AQ and 2013AK series. For covering uneven drywall cuts, we also offer the oversized 2013AQHIP series, measuring 123mm x 79mm. All of them can be mounted on standard gang boxes since they share the same 83.34mm screw spacing.
HCI’s U.S. faceplates fall into three general categories based on installation method:
Standard Faceplate
These are the classic types with keystone cutouts. Most models fit jacks with latch heights from 19.20mm to 19.40mm. But if you’re using jacks with slightly larger latches—say, 20.05mm to 20.20mm—we’ve got options for those too. Just check in with our sales team to make sure you’ve got the right match.
Decorator with Frame
This traditional designer style includes a decorative outer frame and a centered insert, all following the standard 3.28”(83.34mm) screw spacing to fit standard gang boxes. The assembled size matches the standard 4.5” x 2.75” (114.3mm x 69.85mm) footprint. One thing to note: the decorative insert is a bit more sensitive to jack size, especially width and height. So, double-check fitment if you’re using wider keystone jacks.
Front-Access Faceplate
This design includes an outer frame paired with multiple Sub-Inserts (SIPs) that snap in from the front. First, mount the frame to the wall or gang box, then pull the cable through the opening. You can terminate your jacks right there and snap them back into place from the front side. The frame is slightly oversized (about 5mm wider and taller than standard) to help cover any wall imperfections.
