Here are the essential plugs that are commonly used on the field.

A typical Cat 5e UTP cable has 1mm insulation diameter with nominal cable O.D. from 4.7mm(riser) to 5.3mm(plenum). The standard RJ45 8-position groove inside the plug housing is 1.0mm+0.02/-0mm wide and the entrance accepts cable sizes smaller than 5.5mm.
