The SMB12 is commonly used as a Multi-User Telecommunications Outlet Assembly (MUTOA) near workstations for intermediate terminations in zone cabling systems. Installed in an accessible location, incoming cable bundles enter the box perpendicular to the port face, keeping routing organized and serviceable. The unit accommodates up to 12 voice/data ports, which are then distributed to individual workstations using patch cords of varying lengths based on distance from the MUTOA.
