Cable Stripper

The cable stripper is a crucial yet often overlooked tool in networking. Some RJ-45 crimpers offer cable-stripping as an additional function, but they are not as effective as the specialized tool. Choosing the right cable stripper is the initial step towards achieving optimal results in your tasks.

In scenarios where contractors handle data, voice, and CATV simultaneously, merely cutting the cable jacket isn't sufficient.

When handling coaxial cables like RG6 or RG59, it's important to exercise caution when removing the dielectric insulator. And during telecom system installations, a cable stripper equipped with a length stopper for flat cables is essential to avoid damaging the insulated conductor.

Adjusting to various cable diameters
In network cabling, where cable diameters vary based on transmission category (from Cat 5 to Cat 8), an adjustable mechanism is preferable to prevent overcutting of the cable's screened or insulated conductors. Occasionally, the insulation is inadvertently partially cut, and this issue may only become apparent during cable testing, by which time it's too late. The same issue can occur with the cable foil or screen. Preserving the integrity of the shielded portion is crucial for maintaining overall shield integrity. That's why having an adjustable stripping blade with precise depth setting along with a self-adjusting mechanism is crucial.
